Evangelization Rally: Canada’s Pacific Region’s On Fire

Over 200 of Pacific Region’s CFC Family Ministry members were at the Evangelization Rally at St. Bernadette’s in Surrey, on January 21st, 2012.

It was such a blessing to start off the year with an event, themed “On Fire,” with the Couples, Singles, Handmaids, Kids, and of course the CFC-Youth.

The day began with the celebration of the Eucharist. Together, as one family, attendees praised and worshipped God along with the CFC music ministry from Surrey.

It was very fitting that the Magnificat of Mother Mary from Luke 1: 46-55 was read.

My soul magnifies the Lord
And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior;
Because he has regarded the lowliness of his handmaid;
For behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed;
Because he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name;
And his mercy is from generation to generation
on those who fear him.
He has shown might with his arm,
He has scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
and has exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has given help to Israel, his servant, mindful of his mercy
Even as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his posterity forever.

The Blessed Mother is a person of faith and certainty. She encompasses the meaning of the E-rally’s theme. She is on fire for the Lord. This fire is spiritual fervour.

Though sometimes our weakness controls us, we are to keep the fire in our hearts burning. And it is never too late to rekindle that fire even when it seems like it is out as emphasized in the share by the Paez couple from Richmond.

The growth of our own fires entails our personal growth – growing closer to God, to our family, and to our brothers and sisters in our ministry.

The speaker highlighted, as he asked each person present to hold hands, that each person is a log. A bonfire cannot be started with only one log. You need many logs. Likewise, the CFC Family Ministries needs its people to be united in order for it to grow into a great bonfire for the Lord.

God is greater. All the time. And through Him, great things are happening and will continue to happen.
