2 Timothy 4:1-5

Psalm 37:3-6, 30-31

The Holy Gospel according to Matthew 15:21-28

At that time Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a Canaanite woman of that district came and called out, “Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is tormented by a demon.” But he did not say a word in answer to her. His disciples came and asked him, “Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us.” He said in reply, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” But the woman came and did him homage, saying, “Lord, help me.” He said in reply, “It is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs.” She said, “Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters.” Then Jesus said to her in reply, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.

Faith

Imagine yourself walking through a dark tunnel with steep cliff edges. Not knowing what lies ahead; with no lights to guide your way and not knowing where to go, but still you keep on taking the next step, decided to move forward.

Faith in God is you believing that you will reach the end of the tunnel and knowing that everything will be alright. For if you fall, either He will catch you or will teach you how to fly.

Faith is a decision to surrender to God; believing when things are impossible. To walk by faith and not by sight seems to be the most difficult thing to do. Faith is a decision to surrender to God; believing when things are impossible. It is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not know.  When reason ceases, faith commences.

Guide Questions:

How is God calling me to put my faith in Him? Do I only have faith in Him when times are tough, or do I put my faith in Him even when I know I can do things by my own?

Prayer:

Lord, allow me to put my faith in You at all times. That I may know that Your plans will always be better than mine. Amen.
