Not of This World – Love Cloud Daily

Acts 16:1-10
Psalm 100:1-3, 5

The Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 15:18-21

18 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, `A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all this they will do to you on my account, because they do not know him who sent me.

Reflection

How loud is the world? The media and society, constantly bombard us with how we should be, dress and act. The law is being changed to cater to society’s selfishness, at the cost of compromising our morals and values. If we don’t conform, then the world torments and judges us, labeling us as judgmental, unloving, narrow-minded.

In this time of great moral volatility, we are reminded today that we are not of this world. We are set apart and because we are, we must cling onto our master, standing firm in His love and righteousness to remain strong in our beliefs. It is so easy for me to conform to the majority and to be concerned with what the world thinks of me. However, today, God reminds me that I am great, I am loved by someone greater than this world, and His love is all I ever need.
