Some Beautiful Truths – Love Cloud Daily
Isaiah 7: 1 – 9
Psalm 48: 2-8
The Holy Gospel according to Matthew 11:20 to 24
Then he began to upbraid the cities where most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent. ”Woe to you, Chora’zin! woe to you, Beth-sa’ida! for if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it shall be more tolerable on the day of judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you. And you, Caper’na-um, will you be exalted to heaven? You shall be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I tell you that it shall be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you.
Some Beautiful Truths
The Lord is more than worthy to be thanked for breathing life unto us every single day, each waking moment. This fundamental miracle – God’s faithfulness to us, even in small things – should afford us a way of looking that knows how to keep things sacred, cherished and important.
The Lord is consistent — from the New Testament down to the present — in telling and inviting us to take hold of his promise of a full life. Today’s good news calls us to go back to some beautiful truths: that God’s love is too strong for us to choose a life less than what he has promised; and that He calls us to turn our gaze on Him who makes all things new. Today’s story forewarns us to not fall into the trap of missing out the beauty of the Lord’s wondrous, awesome design — which He had meant for all of us.
Guide Questions:
1. What does God want to remind me today?
2. What are the 5 things I know to be true? Are my truths in tune with God’s?
3. Have I missed out on claiming God’s beautiful blessings for, or promises to me in the past weeks or days?
Prayer:
Almighty Father, thank you for your gift of today. I pray that by your grace, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I may be constantly led back to your love. Tear the scales from my eyes, that I may see you patiently waiting for me to return your embrace. Only in you shall I find my life’s meaning, purpose and joy.
