YFC ILOILO Provincial Youth Conference 2012: iBroadcast
The Provincial Youth Conference (PYC) held at the municipality of Pavia last May 12-13, 2012 was attended by almost 500 youths all over the province.
The event which was hosted by the Metro sector was opened in the Pavia Gym. The conference began with a worship led by Gabby of Pavia, a welcome remarks from Councilor Jo John Paul Peňol which is also YFC member in the chapter and a short message from the Hon. Mayor Arcadio Gorriceta and was then followed by the opening of the conference by Tito Vier Gumban, CFC Pavia chapter head. The following hours of the PYC were then filled of activities to hype up the participants not only physically in the sports competitions but also to fill their spirits with God’s message in the simultaneous workshops given.
Based on the CFC theme of the year “Proclaim the greatness of the Lord” from the Luke 1:46, sessions were focused on how the YFCs should broadcast God’s message to every area in their lives.
- Session 1- “I Witness” with Ming Adriano
Session One which was given by Ming Adriano, Full time Pastoral worker for Negros Occidental was entitled “I Witness” which mainly focused on how should we appreciate even the smallest blessings in life that God has showered upon us and how our lives should also serve as blessing to others. Our call to be witnesses of His greatness is a privilege that should be appreciated and nourished by every hearts experiencing Him. The sharer talked about How God has changed their lives by the time they said “YES” to their callings.

It was then followed by the Holy Eucharist in the Sta. Monica Church and continued all the way to the evening session which was officially started by a worship mob, a showcase of the band of every sector playing for the Almighty led by Jericho Mandapat.
As the Session 2 started, the production dancers showed a dance showing how youths are being tempted by the sins around us. “TESTIFY”…the Session of Wanner Algarme, the Regional Coordinator for Visayas told the participants on how to focus in God’s love and not on the hurts brought about by our sins. The challenge for them for us all is to magnify the name of the Lord by being testimonies of His greatness. Letter writing and the candle lighting brought the participants into emotions when they just reflected on their past attitudes and look forward to betterment with the Spirit of the Lord always.

The third session by Sherwin Judicpa, “I Broadcast” challenged the hearts of every YFC Iloilo member to courageously share God’s love to everyone by not limiting ourselves by what we only see that are good for us. He also encouraged everybody to be channels of God’s message to anyone we meet.

But before the conference ends, the advocacies and programs of the community were discussed for the awareness of every YFC Iloilo. To complete the victorious conference, Entertainment night was held featuring the different talents. Also announced is the next venue for PYC which is in the North Sector. The conference ended with a prayer that set their hearts on fire to Broadcast and proclaim God’s message wherever they are.
